In 2011, SYM Superyacht Management carried out an extensive refit of the Sunseeker 75 Yacht “BLUE SEAS”. In addition to overseeing the MCA coding survey and associated works to allow the yacht to charter, the SYM team managed significant interior and exterior updates, including new flooring, wall panels, tables, sofas, exterior cushions, mouldings, crew area re-design, blind installation, mattresses, AV system upgrade and a complete service of the yacht’s systems.

The owners have since been cruising all over the Med, continuing to rely on SYM for Captain & crew placement and winter berth location. 5 seasons later, they approached SYM once again to oversee and manage an exterior painting project.

After a number of meetings onboard to establish the scope of the works, the team set about contacting local shipyards and subcontractors to obtain quotes on behalf of the client. Eventually, the shipyard in Golfe Juan was chosen to lift the boat and the re-painting project soon got underway.

SYM supervised the entire paint project of the 75 Yacht, which included the erection of scaffolding and protective coverings, overseeing preparation works, sanding and fairing of the gel surfaces, monitoring paint application and, ultimately, the final sign-off of the works on behalf of the yacht’s owner.

As with all projects of this nature, it is vital that an owner’s representative with good technical knowledge is on hand to overview the project. SYM ensured the project went perfectly to plan, and was finished on time, on budget and to the client’s expectations.
